Unfortunately Health Inequalities are BIG in Nottingham with:
- Life expectancy for Nottingham below the national average
- Premature death more common in deprived areas
- Cardiovascular Disease (heart related diseases) and Cancer being the 2 main causes of death
- Men over 40 and black minority and ethnic groups more at risk
These Health Inequalities CAN be Prevented by;
- Spotting signs and symptoms earlier
- Raising awareness through information and training
- Encouraging people to see a GP sooner
- Having regular check-ups
- Breaking down the barriers
