-  WHAT IS THE DRUG ACTION AND ALCOHOL TEAM?

Nottingham City Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT)is a multi-agency partnership dedicated to tackling drug misuse, and its associated problems, in the City of Nottingham. It is responsible for implementing the national strategy www.drugs.gov.uk "Tackling Drugs Together to Build a Better Britain" (up dated in 2002)in Nottingham, and for responding to local needs. The DAAT partnership involves Nottingham City Council (our host organisation), Nottingham City Primary Care Trust, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Probation Service, and local prisons, and aims to ensure that these organisations work together in a well co-ordinated way to tackle drug problems. The partner organisations are represented on the DAAT Board at senior level, and the DAAT has a small dedicated staff team.
