What is a complaint?
An expression of dissatisfaction or concern, in relation to individual child or young person, which requires a response.
What is a compliment?
Something positive about the service you or someone you know has received. What you say will be passed on to staff through their manager.
What is a representation?
A representation is a comment or suggestion of a general nature, which is not necessarily a complaint. Representations enable children and young people to put forward their views for changes to the service they receive, or in the establishment in which they live.
Which procedure?
The Social Care Complaints Procedure
The Children Act 1989 Representations Procedure (England) Regulations 2006 require that Children's Service Departments have complaints procedures. They regulate the procedure which local authorities follow in consideration of representations made to them under the 'Children Act 1989' and the 'Adoption and Children Act 2002'.
