Bonfire Night - 5 November

The city's annual FREE Bonfire Night celebrations on Thursday 5 November at the Forest Recreation Ground.

This family friendly event, which marks the anniversary of Guy Fawkes foiled gunpowder plot, will include fairground rides, a children's firework display, bonfire, and a grand firework display.

This event is very popular and busy at times, so give yourself plenty of time to get to the site and find a good viewing spot. Make sure you do not lose your friends or children. Agree meeting points, exchange phone numbers (write your phone number on your children's arm or piece of clothing), and if in doubt seek help from the stewards or police on site.

Act responsibly - DO NOT USE your own fireworks or sparklers. Dress appropriately, expecting to have to stand around on a cold and damp November evening.
