Beautiful neighbourhoods

Are you and your neighbours interested in making your street a greener, cleaner and friendlier place to live?

There will be a free seminar in the Cecil Roberts Room at Central Library, Angel Row, from 1pm to 3pm on Friday February 13th for anyone who is interested in improving their neighbourhood with a view to gaining an East Midlands in Bloom Neighbourhood Award. Places are limited, so booking is essential by calling 0115 915 2733 (a limit of two places per organisation).

People entering the awards have reported safer communities, making friends with neighbours they never knew, turning around 'grot spots', transforming rundown areas and creating spaces for everyone to enjoy. Streets, community gardens, housing complexes, Friends of parks, Tenants' and Residents' Associations and community centres are welcome to join in.

More information from Caroline Elmhirst or Julie Walker on 0115 915 2745.
