Angel Row Gallery closed on Saturday 22nd of September 2007, as part of the preparations for the opening of CCAN, the new Centre for Contemporary Art Nottingham. For further information visit the press releases page in the ‘Press’ tab at the top of the page.
CCAN is an exciting new independent organisation which will be housed in a brand new building, located in the centre of Nottingham and opening at the end of 2008. Building work is now underway, and so Angel Row Gallery revenue funds have been transferred to support the development of CCAN.

Now that Angel Row Gallery has closed, this website functions as an archive covering its 16 year history, including the key exhibitions and events which have taken place between 1991 and 2007. During this time, we have worked with around 1200 artists in over 200 exhibitions, as well as numerous off-site events and projects. Some of our exhibitions have also toured the UK.
Information about every exhibition ever held in Angel Row Gallery’s main spaces is available via our online archive located in the ‘Exhibitions’ tab at the top of the page.
Information about education and access events held at Angel Row Gallery between 2002 and 2007 is also available by visiting the archive located in the ‘Education’ tab at the top of the page.
Angel Row Gallery’s aim has always been to promote creativity, exploration and interest in contemporary visual art by: programming a space for thinking and imagination; developing inspirational projects with artists; exploring creative approaches to learning. We hope that the remaining website archives give you a taste of this work.
Finally, thanks to everyone who has worked for, exhibited at, funded, supported and visited Angel Row Gallery over the recent weeks, months and years. We are also grateful for the support of Arts Council England, which helped to establish the gallery in 1991 and has continued ever since.
