It is acknowledged that some documents on the website contain technical language or data. There are also parts of the website that contain content and in particular archived documents that will not be fully accessible. For example;

• some older PDF documents aren’t fully accessible to screen reader software
• some content does not have enough contrast, so people with moderate visual impairments may struggle to read it
• some links are not distinct enough and may be difficult for people with moderate visual impairments to read
• some content may be difficult to navigate using a screen reader.

Given the number of documents, it would be a disproportionate burden for us to make all content on our web pages including documents fully accessible but where we are made aware of issues, we will endeavour to make more accessible versions of the affected content available.

Some content will include images that do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access all the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).  It would be a disproportionate burden to make all archived material fully accessible given the sheer number of documents contained on the web pages. 

However, we will aim that new web pages and published content will be accessible and for example include text alternatives to images. 

For all new web pages and documents, we aim to make content as accessible as possible. We provide guidance and training to all content authors to ensure new content is accessible as possible.
